misoprostol
n.
a prostaglandin drug administered by mouth in the prevention and treatment of peptic ulcer, especially when caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (see NSAID), in which case it is given in conjunction with the NSAID. Possible side-effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.
